I grew up in Grandview, Missouri as an only, middle, oldest and youngest child depending on how many foster brothers and sisters were a part of my family at the time. I graduated from high school in 1981, and began attending the College of the Ozarks near Branson, MO. I received a B.S. degree in Philosophy/Religion with minors in Math, and Business (Accounting) in 1986. I met my wonderful husband while we were in college, and we began a family soon after graduation.
I spent almost a dozen years as a Youth Director in both Carthage and Aurora, MO, while my children were young. We moved back to Carthage after a few years out of state, and I began to substitute teach in Carthage schools. In 2010 I decided to seek certification through the ABCTE program offered in Missouri, and completed the course in early 2011. I have been teaching Communication Arts at CJHS since January 2013, and enjoy every day here with junior high students.
My husband and I have been married over 34 years and have 2 married daughters who live in Missouri, a son who lives too far away, and 4 wonderful grandchildren.
